Passion for Dancing: The Story of Shulamith recounts the life of Shuli Eshel, an Israeli born Chicago filmmaker, as she reconnects with her childhood passion for dancing through Salsa. The documentary weaves the themes of family, survival, friendship, love, marriage, divorce, feminism and peace activism. Shuli’s film career has been driven by her feminist consciousness and her passion to make this a better world. Clips from her documentaries highlight work that proved important, ground-breaking firsts in Israel and the United States. Chicago’s multi-racial and multi-ethnic Salsa community join Shuli as they relate their passion for Salsa and underscore Shuli’s belief that “It is NEVER too late to reconnect with your childhood passion or any passion you might have, and use it for the rest of your life”.
