Producers Roundtable: Women in Leadership – Obstacles and Opportunities
January 10 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Women are behind many of our most beloved creative works. But being a “leader” does not always come with a green-light for production. So what does it really mean to be a female producer in today’s climate?
Together with Scope: Powerful Women, Powerful Stories, Women In Film Chicago, and Curmudgeon Group, a Chicago-based creative production agency, we will discuss the nature of women in leadership vis-a-vis producing, financing, and power in regard to women-driven projects.
This is a unique opportunity for producers and leaders to share experiences from the field, to talk about the process of negotiating and securing project support from financiers, and discuss best practices for producing and financing creative work across film, broadcast, advertising, and performance.
Bring your questions and take notes! If you have a project you’re working on, we want to hear about it. Free for WIFC members. $10 for non-members. RSVP through Eventbrite is required. Membership will be confirmed before the event. Space is limited to 25.
Location: Choral Hall located beneath Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park. Enter off of Randolph (see map) on the north side of the Harris Theater. Follow the sidewalk south toward the backstage of the Pritzker Pavilion. You will see signs posted for Scope-WIFC Producers Roundtable.
